Aria is a hot air balloon waiting to take off in flight, made of wood and iron: two simple materials normally associated with the idea of gravity. Here everything is taken to an extreme, in the instant in which the balloon is about to take off into the sky. It’s the contradiction inherent in art, the way art can fool our senses; a conflict between two elements that have now been moulded into a form that seems to absorb and caress the air, playing with it as if it were a musical instrument.

Aria è una mongolfiera in attesa di spiccare il volo realizzata in legno e ferro, due materiali semplici e abitualmente associati a un’idea di gravità. Qui tutto è portato all’estremo nell’attimo in cui stanno per elevarsi al cielo. È la contraddizione del linguaggio artistico, l’inganno percettivo che l’arte sa regalare; un conflitto tra due elementi ora plasmati in una for-ma che sembra inglobare e accarezzare l’aria, gio-carci quasi fosse uno strumento musicale.

Aria ist ein zum Abflug bereitstehender Heißluft-ballon, der aus Holz und Eisen gefertigt ist, zwei einfachen Materialien, die man üblicherweise mit Schwere assoziiert. Genau in dem Augenblick, in dem sie sich gerade in den Himmel erheben wollen, wird hier alles ins andere Extrem verkehrt. Kunst ist in der Lage, uns den Widerspruch der künstle-rischen Sprache, die Täuschung der Wahrnehmung zu schenken; ein Konflikt zwischen zwei Elemen-ten, die jetzt eine solche Form angenommen haben, die sich die Luft einverleiben und sie zu streicheln scheint, die mit ihr spielt, fast so als wäre sie ein Musikinstrument.
