EN In the middle of the forest area above St. Cristina we ask ourselves which scents are typical for the Dolomites. Together we will collect and process local woods, barks and resins from the forest and try to create incense sticks with local scent materials.

DE Inmitten dem Waldgebiet über St. Cristina fragen wir uns, welche Düfte typisch für die Dolomiten sind. Gemeinsam sammeln und verarbeiten wir in diesem ganztägigen Workshop lokale Hölzer, Rinden und Harze aus dem Wald und probieren damit Räucherstäbchen mit lokalen Geruchsmaterialien zu kreieren.

EN As a symbol denoting houses in South Tyrol, the red geranium on the balconies has come a long way: originally from South Africa, the plant arrived in Europe over 400 years ago after long voyages by ship. Following the works on view in Ortisei, we will explore the origins of the iconographic elements that contribute to shaping our sense of belonging and our future. We will be guided by the scent of geraniums and the curators of BAU, Institute for Contemporary Art and Ecology.
IT Il geranio rosso da balcone, simbolo che identifica le case in Alto Adige, ha fatto molta strada: la pianta, originaria del Sudafrica, è arrivata in Europa oltre 400 anni fa dopo lunghi viaggi in nave. Attraverso un percorso tra le opere esposte a Ortisei, ci interrogheremo insieme sulle origini degli elementi iconografici che contribuiscono a plasmare il nostro senso di appartenenza e il nostro futuro. A guidarci saranno il profumo dei gerani e le curatrici di BAU, istituto per l'arte contemporanea e l’ecologia.
DE Die rote Balkonpelargonie, eine symbolische Pflanze, welche viele Häuser in Südtirol schmückt, hat einen langen Weg hinter sich: Die ursprünglich aus Südafrika stammende Pflanze kam vor über 400 Jahren nach langen Schiffsreisen nach Europa. Auf einem Spaziergang durch die in St. Ulrich ausgestellten Werke werden wir uns gemeinsam die Frage nach den Ursprüngen der ikonografischen Elemente stellen, die dazu beitragen, unser Zugehörigkeitsgefühl und unsere Zukunft zu gestalten. Dabei begleiten uns die Kuratorinnen von BAU, Institut für zeitgenössische Kunst und Ökologie, und der Duft von Geranien.

EN In this workshop we will practice becoming mountain, river and tree. Parts from the audio works You Mountain You River You Tree will be activated live and experienced together in the group of participants. We will work with breath, light touch and small movements in a slow and gentle pace.
IT In questo workshop ci eserciteremo a diventare montagna, fiume e albero. Alcune parti dell'opera audio You Mountain You River You Tree saranno attivate dal vivo e sperimentate insieme al gruppo di partecipanti. Lavoreremo con il respiro, il tocco leggero e piccoli movimenti in un ritmo lento e delicato.

EN Uaajeerneq – Greenlandic Mask Dance is the oldest dramatic expression among the Inuit in Greenland, with a tradition that has been alive for more than 3,000 years. Mixing scary, erotic and comic parts, the Mask Dance engages the audience’s emotional response while the performer, transforming through mask and costume, blurs the distinction between the human, the animal and the world of the spirit.
IT La Uaajeerneq - danza in maschera groenlandese, è la più antica espressione drammatica tra gli Inuit della Groenlandia, con una tradizione di oltre 3000 anni. Mescolando elementi spaventosi, erotici e comici, la danza sollecita la risposta emotiva del pubblico mentre la performer, nella sua trasformazione attraverso la maschera e il costume, rende incerta la distinzione tra mondo umano, animale e degli spiriti.
DE Der Uaajeerneq - ein grönländischer Maskentanz - ist der älteste dramatische Ausdruck der grönländischen Inuit mit einer über 3000 Jahre alten Tradition. Mit einer Mischung aus beängstigenden, erotischen und komischen Elementen löst der Tanz beim Publikum eine emotionale Reaktion aus, da die Darstellerin in ihrer Verwandlung durch Maske und Kostüm die Grenzen zwischen der menschlichen, tierischen und geistigen Welt überschreitet.
